Pre-Trip - Hardworking Good Team Members

Preparation work began weeks prior to the actual departure with Mdm Wong coaching the pupils in areas such as simple conversational Japanese, the Japanese culture and folding of the origami paper cranes.

The first session was conducted on 19 April with the pupils learning conversational Japanese and a self introduction in Japanese which will come in handy when in Japan.

Everyone was really serious about learning and pupils had the opportunities to practice their self introduction before the session ended.

The next session on 26 April was one which the pupils learned more conversational Japanese and practicing a song and dance routine which they will perform during a farewell party in Japan.

The pupils took a break from training sessions to prepare for their SA1 and continued again when they met up on 12 May to learn about the significance of the origami paper crane also known as Peace Crane.

Pupils learned about the effects of the radiation given off by the atomic bomb that was dropped in Nagasaki during World War II and learned about the significance of the Peace Crane.

The pupils learned very quickly and soon enough, everyone was folding away.

Mr Asai joined the pupils and guided some of the boys when folding the cranes.

In line with the school's effort to inculcate financial literacy, the pupils gathered in the hall on 16 May with all the other pupils on various Global Classroom Programmes to attend a talk on financial literacy by Mr Lim Kee Cheong.
